MercatorNet are a real mine of information with no political axe to grind, no ideological agendas, no spin to put on news stories around the world, they just go about and do a very professional job of telling it as it is, having gone to great pains to thoroughly investigate their subjects. This of course is a rare quality to find in journalists these days (you excepted of course Joanna!) as the modern media man or woman is content to regurgitate the 'party line' dressed up in all sorts of buzz word condiments trying to make their tabloid more palatable than the opposition. No-one is prepared to swim against the tide simply float with all the other dead and dying fish in a sea of mediocrity.
Reading the many articles from your link it is amazing to see how EVERYONE involved from grass roots level in Africa to seasoned Science Professionals AGREE 100% WITH THE HOLY FATHER!
When the media people finally get serious and study their subjects they will find that they have been responsible for fanning the flames of ignorance and deceit, because I believe the penny is going to drop sooner rather than later!
The more I hear and talk to people the more I find that they are not buying into all this media hype and nonsense about condoms and AIDS. God Bless our Pope - the Great and the good Papa Benedict!
Your article on Henry VIII is very informative. On Channel 4 on the next 4 monday nights at 9.00 pm starting 06/04/09 is a series on Henry VIII and what was going through his mind as King.
As a prince and second in line, was he more happy with music, sport and culture, than the responsiblities and problems of kingship. Did he resent being King and being constained ? The programmes aim to find out.
